Peninsula Tramping ClubTramping is a way of life
PTC is one of Christchurch's largest tramping clubs.
Based in Christchurch, New Zealand, the Peninsula Tramping Club is a large friendly club offering a wide range of trips, mostly in the central part of the South Island. See the trip list to see where we are going in the next month, or trip reports to see where have been in the past.
The club consists of people of all ages who tramp for recreation.
We organise regular trips to cater for people of different levels of fitness and tramping experience. Our trips range from easy to hard, and may be anything from day trips to long weekends to a week or more.
We also hold a monthly club meeting, and a variety of social events.
CLUB NIGHTS are held on the second Tuesday of each month in the Baptist Church Hall at 286 Oxford Terrace. This is located on the corner of Madras Street and Oxford Terrace, (see map) starting promptly at 7.45 pm. Doors open 7.30.
Hiring club gear for private trips. If you require tramping gear for a private trip and it is available on your dates, club members can hire out the PTC gear - contact the Quartermaster (Brian Smith). Please note however that you will be responsible for the costs of any loss or damage at the value at the time of hire.
